Welcome to Rapid Cool Wear (Formally G GEE WEAR), we are a small family, run business on the outskirts of the Yarra Valley, operating both online and at local horse/pony club events and dog events. We design and manufacture practical, innovative and affordable evaporative cooling products for horses, dogs and people.
From our Rapid Cool Horse Rugs and Rapid Cool Dog Coats to our cooling wraps and ice boots, every product is created with real-world testing and a passion for helping hardworking animals and their owners stay comfortable.
The whole family have had a part in the creation of RAPID COOL WEAR. From my husband and sons with their degrees in IT, our eldest daughter with degrees in patents and trademarks, our youngest daughter degrees in graphic design for packaging and photography, and lastly our horses and dogs as the supermodels.

About Me
I think some people are just born loving horses, and that was me. I started riding at Hillside riding school on the outskirts of Melbourne when I was very young. Leaving school, I worked as a Jillaroo on a large, remote cattle station in the Northern Territory, to say it was a rough, was an understatement, but I loved every scary minute of it.
We now own a property in Chirnside Park where we have raised our three children. My love of horses was passed to our youngest daughter, who rides and competes; this was where I found the niche in the market for these cooling rugs.
The Idea
The idea came at competitions; we would ice our horse’s legs to help with recovery. I had purchased a sports cool towel for our daughter to use around her neck and thought, “how would a large cool towel be for a horse?” After endlessly researching, I could not find anything that matched my idea. I purchased many different qualities of cooling fabric, looking for the best cooling powers that allow the air to flow through the fabric. After months and months of trial and error, I found the right fabric, and sewed my first cooling horse rug. My idea worked, cooling the horse quickly after competing and even surprising the vets at vet check.
From my idea years ago, seeing a need, researching fabrics, patents and trademarks, designing, to sewing an easy-to-use rug that is different from anything on the market, it needed a purpose, and was affordable.
The Fabric
This fabric has received the “Innovative Technology” award for “cooling power.”
The fabric’s polyester and microfiber mesh fibres allow the air to flow through, like evaporative cooling. When wet, it can cool up to 30% cooler than other rugs on the market. It does not contain topical treatments or chemicals and will keep its cooling power wash after wash. It’s rated UPF50+
